linter is deprecated?

I am studying the project to start my contributions, one thing I noticed is that the linter golint is marked as deprecated.

Why the project has chosen this one instead of golangci-lint?

at that time it was not and we pretty much use it only to check func/fields comments. I think the revive is the modern replacement. Golangci-lint uses it under the hood.

We could add https://github.com/golangci/golangci-lint-action to CI flow in Github but the errcheck has to be tuned down and revive/golint rules need to be enables as these are disabled by default.

• exported funcs need comments,
• exported fields need comments,
• comment starts with name
