The web interface dashboard can show a different count for "Volume Snapshots".
In the example below the Resources section shows a Volume Snapshots count of 4 while the Storage section shows a Volume Snapshots count of 26.

In my understanding the Storage Volume Snapshots includes the Resource Volume Snapshots plus the VM instance snapshots so it's correct that they can show different values but having the same name (Volume Snapshots) is confusing.

I'm using CloudStack 4.22.0.

Hi @andrea-janna both the counts are for volume snapshots only, doesn't include VM instance snapshots. The Resources card picks the count through list snapshots, and the Storage card picks it from list accounts (using the snapshot resource count & limits).

I checked it with 2 users on the same account and creating multiple snapshots (on KVM and global setting 'kvm.incremental.snapshot' set to false) with these users, and the dashboard shows the total snapshot count of the account for both the users, which are the same. Few questions - What is the hypervisor? if KVM, what is the value of global setting 'kvm.incremental.snapshot'? Have you removed any snapshots?

Hello @sureshanaparti.
The hypervisor is KVM and kvm.incremental.snapshot is set to false.
My storage is Ceph and I set snapshot.backup.to.secondary to false.

When I take a VM instance snapshot the Volume Snapshots count in Storage dashboard card increases by 1 while the Volume Snapshots count in Resources dashboard card doesn't increase.

@andrea-janna I could reproduce the issue after taking instance snapshot, these records are marked as group type in snapshots table, which are included in the resource count. I've addressed it here: #12945, please check.
